The week started with the classes taking part in drama activities. Ms Brown used her dramatic talents to show the children how to act out different situations when given an instruction. The children enjoyed being able to show their own drama skills in a small group situation. We also had a visit from a hearing specialist who was able to screen the children’s hearing. It was a great initiative and we are thankful for the donation of their time. We were also able to use our outside spaces for learning and peer reading activities. With the abundance of wildlife present, it isn’t hard to lose yourself in the environment and find different ways to educate and learn.
It was with great pleasure that we were able to meet with the parents at our first Parent Information Night on Tuesday. Ms Brown, Mr Lubrano and I were able to speak openly to the parents about how our programs are progressing, social education, camp and many other things are are going on in our little school. It was a positive night and I thank all of the parents that were able to attend.
Our Cross Country was a hit on Thursday. We traveled down to the Hornsby Campus and joined up with all of the other Junior School students for the Cross Country Carnival. There was a sea of colour as the students made their way down to the Main Oval for the competition. Thank you to the parents that were able to attend. It was a fantastic day.
